Good oven but less gimmicks…

This is a good oven with many positive features. For starters, I love the design and the aesthetics of it - even if I do worry that some of the signage may fade over time. I also think that the A+ energy rating is awesome for a device of this nature; it is really pleasing to know that Samsung is taking energy ratings and efficiency seriously and not just greenwashing their products with offers of recycling etc. I also really appreciate the generous size of the oven (given our medium sized family).
However, for me the dual cook function is the strongest aspect of this oven! The ability to tailor the different zones for completely different cooking, or combine the whole oven for one larger cook, is a game-changer in our house. We mostly found ourselves using the whole of our previous oven to make a pizza or to bake some fish, when now we can do this much less wastefully and more efficiently.
A few niggles though. It would be awesome if we could have opened the bottom drawer separately too, although I imagine it would have been difficult to engineer. The app is totally pointless and over engineered - completely unnecessary and also buggy. Especially as it doesn't let you actually do anything useful with the oven. We really do not need an app for everything in the house! The pyrolytic cleaning again feels a little over engineered and at the moment feels like an OTT feature - but this could be because my oven is brand new and clean. I also wonder if it is worth spending that much energy to get an imperfect clean. I may appreciate this feature at a later date, but that remains to be seen. Certainly, oven cleaning was not a major problem with my last and much older oven.
Overall a great product that could have done with slightly fewer gimmicks.
